Gregory Blair
2012: The Year in Review

Gregory In Times Square

Another year, another round of adventures and exciting new surprises!

January had me working on a new screenplay: a writer from Ireland contacted me to help take his script to the next level. Re-imagining his script was a fantastic challenge and I think THE RISING OF ATLANTIS, as it's now called, could be a huge blockbuster. I also joined forces with Roxy Shih of Good Kids Productions to begin pre-production on DEADLY REVISIONS, my psychological thriller/horror screenplay.

In February, the webisode HORDE BUSTERS premiered. I voice Chesmere, a slightly nerdy, Orc-fighting wizard. It's at longshadowfilms.com and I first appear in episode 2. My episode of Brent Spiner's hilarious new web series FRESH HELL was also unleashed. I'm a Porn Actor Student in that!

March involved scouting locations and gathering crew and cast for DEADLY REVISIONS-including snagging the King of Horror, Bill Oberst Jr. for the lead. With Bill on board, we filmed our teaser trailer. I also managed time for an interview for "More Horror" with the glamorous Dawna Lee Heising.

April saw the curtain go up on another production of my stage version of NICHOLAS NICKLEBY; this time in Virginia at Christendom College. I also appeared on Actors Entertainment with my DEADLY REVISIONS co-producer Roxy Shih and did a small role for a fun short film called MEET THE ZILLAS.

In May, my screenplay THE SISTERHOOD (which won 1st place in the Horror Screenplay Contest last year) was bought by Enmar Productions. It has been renamed THE GATEWAY and begins production early next year in the U.K.

June saw our DEADLY REVISIONS teaser trailer winning the honor of a premiere screening at the New Media Film Festival.

July was all about pre-production for DEADLY REVISIONS, leading to…

…August and September when we went into production and shot the actual film in the middle of a heat wave. Talk about sweating for your art! I felt like Ghidora, the three-headed monster, since I was acting, directing and producing.

October meant DEADLY REVISIONS began post-production and I got the chance to cavort with friends at the annual Shriekfest opening night party. I was interviewed that night as well and you can watch it here.

November was all about acting. I filmed roles for the feature film OOGA BOOGA, the short film THE MAN WHO LOVED HIS CAT and the webisode OLD DOGS & NEW TRICKS. I also had a great photo shoot with photographer Joshua Patterson.

December found me writing again, working on a new screenplay for Bill Oberst Jr. and myself. I also did some creative input on two short scripts for actor JohnnyWolf. What will happen with those projects is news for another year.

So we kiss 2012 goodbye with DEADLY REVISIONS already on 8 IMDB lists of movies to watch out for…and myself on 4 IMDB lists of actors to watch out for. Not bad for one year!

As always, I send warm wishes to all you who stumble upon these words.

Be authentic. Be thoughtful. Be fabulous!

All the best,

~Gregory
